Not being recognized is pretty awesome. I love the look on people faces. It doesn't happen as much anymore but every once in awhile I run into someone I haven't seen for a year. :) and they crap their pants, stutter and totally freak out.

~Your underwear that once barely made it to your belly button and always rolled down, now almost fits all the way up under your boobs!!

~Your co-workers start calling you "skinny" even though you are still far from it. Just the change in you has them calling you that :)

~Had to buy a belt for my jeans

~Shirts that were once too short now come down and hide my belly.

I squatted down with my 3 year old granddaughter to look at something on the ground and realized that a couple minutes later I was still there....I didn't fall over and my feet didn't fall asleep!

You think there is someone staring at you across the way but its really just an un-recognizable reflection from a mirror!

LMBO! Just as Phat2016 stated, I now need to get more panties as mom use to say wear your good ones outside in case you get in an accident, I would hate for the doctor to see what I'm wearing now.

I just keep holding out before I buy new ones. lol!

Here's hoping I don't get in an accident.

I'm scheduled for surgery on Monday, 1/4. I just spent 2 hours reading every single post and I am very inspired by all of the success. Thank you for sharing your beautiful stories. You have made a difference in my attitude and I'm now looking very much forward to Monday and willing to take on the "unknown" post op. Thank you, again.

This thread is wonderful!

-when you work in a psych hospital and the patients no longer put "fat" in front of the names they call you

-when people call you "little" and "small"

-when you can shop at the same stores your friends go to but sometimes still can't find clothes because things are too big

-when you actually accept invites because you no longer feel too fat to be seen in public

-when you're no longer the fattest person in the room

-when guys flirt with me! I still don't understand it most of the time and only later realize hey that guy was flirting with me!

-when your rings and watches slide off

-when you have more clothes that are too big rather than too small

-when you don't mind being in pictures

-when you feel cold instead of sweaty all the time

-when you realize you have ribs, a collar bone, hip bones, and bones in your knees

-when you no longer dread sitting on the floor because now you know you can get back up

-when stepping on the scale no longer makes you cry

-when you have enough energy to get through a normal day

-when you can fit into airplane seats and carnival rides

-when people actually worry you're getting too thin or are jealous of you

-when you can fit into and look good in designer clothes

-when clothes shopping is fun again

-when you're able to limit yourself to a few bites instead of several helpings because you no longer have the "f-it I'm already fat" attitude

Ok, I'm forcing myself to stop here. ????

I had surgery four months ago. I went from a size 15/16 in jeans to a size 5/6 in jeans. I have not been this size since high school. I literally cried in the fitting room. My husband had to keep going to the jeans aisle to get a smaller size. After four trips it was finally right at a size 5 jeans. I'm so happy for all the hard work is paying off. I walk six miles a day and take all of my supplements and eat right. Thank you for the tool I was given on August 17th 2015. Thank you to my family for all of the support. My doc has not let me down and I won't let him down. Thank you to dr Seth Judd of ORMC.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
