7 Month Before and After

Recommended Posts

Thanks guys. I really appreciate all of the compliments. It has taken a lot of work and I couldn't have gotten here without my sleeve. Since getting the sleeve I have finally been able to become the person that I have always wanted to be a runner. I would say runner is the reason why I have been so successful with my weight loss. I run 4-5 days a week ranging from 4-7 miles. Since January 1st I have run 10 5K's and 3 10K's. I will run my first half marathon on October 9th in Long Beach and I am planning to run the LA Marathon in March 2012.

I have always hated taking pictures so I dont have too many before pictures. I was looking through my husbands phone and ran across this picture from December 2010 which was a few weeks before my surgery so I has to do a before and the after photo was taken about 3 weeks ago. Its weird cause every one says how skinny I am and I dont see it. I know that I have lost weight since the scale and clothes tell me. I can only see the difference when I look at old photos and new photos of myself. I am only 2 pound from goal so I will have to post new pictures when that day comes.

You look fantastic! I adore your short hair, I think It looks so sexy on a woman. I keep going shorter and shorter as I get smaller. Wtg on your weightloss you look wonderful!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
