~winecountrygirl~ 3 Posted August 28, 2011 5 incisions here, you can look at a pic of mine in my album. I think they will leave tiny scars or be hidden in my stretch marks.

Sassygirl06 962 Posted August 28, 2011 you can have 5 if you dont have a drain tube, or 6 if you need one. most docs do steri strips now with no stiches or staples, which is better for scarring. mine are almost healed and look like cat scratches right now. one is high inbetween my boobs, and so little no one would ever notice. i have one on each side of my belly that is less then 1/4 inch, and i have two in the middle right above my belly button that are each about 1/2 inch to 3/4 inch long. i am very please with them, and dont think they will be to bad. if you are really worried about scarring you can always by mederma to put on them, it does really help minimize the scars. i have used it in the past on other ones. i too have pictures of my incisions at 4 days post op i think. i will be putting more on in a few days so that people can see what they look like when they are healed completely. you have to friend me to see them though. -sassy
Stacy160 201 Posted August 28, 2011 Any time there's an incision, there's a scar, BUT, I can say that at a year and a half out, only one of my 5 shows unless you reeeeally look for the others. That's the big one above the belly button, which started at 1 1/2 - 2 inches long and is now only about a half inch. It's faded just as much as the smaller ones, but between there being more adhesion under it (since it's bigger) and the loose-ish skin around it, it dimples.... if it weren't for that, it would barely be visible. Janae 12 Posted August 28, 2011 Some doctors now perform the procedure through 1 incision. There is a new tool they use to manage all of the scopes, trochanters and instruments via 1 incision. Ask your doctor if he offers this if you are concerned about scarring. I'm 55 so I'm more worried about how I look with clothes on than off! My DH loves me regardless. I think my doctor charged an extra fee for this and it does increase the operative time a bit.
