Indymom 132 Posted August 27, 2011 I'm sure you're miserable but trust your surgeon and the nurses. They don't want to release you to go home if there's any possibility of an issue. It's great that you're not showing any signs of a leak but I believe I read somewhere also that slow progression of liquids can be problematic, so let them make sure you're OK. Hang in there! FloraBama Girl 116 Posted August 27, 2011 I was sleeved on Wednesday and I did not get released until late Friday. I have a genetic blood disorder and when they tested my blood, my hemoglobin had dropped a lot. Explained to the doctor that my body does this with any injury or surgery. I had convinced the doctor my hemoglobin would come back up as I recoveand . They were in the middle of doing my discharge when my right calf starting hurting. This delayed my discharge because they did an untrasound on my legs and the radiologist had to read the results. It was about 6:30PM when I finally left the hospital. These surgeons want to make sure you are not going to have complications and I feel better with them on the caution side. Hope you get better soon and get out of there. MeMeMEEE 206 Posted August 28, 2011 I was sleeved on a Monday and discharged on Thursday - my Dr requires that you get 64 oz Fluid in within 24 hours before you can leave. It was really hard for me - he told me he finds sleeves have a slower start than bypass. Also if you live more than 30 mins away he will keep you an extra night. I think it is very common in my program that people stay for 3-4 nights.
