Khy 16 Posted August 26, 2011 I have been storm proofing the yard, getting in supplies, cooking for the next several days because we will probably not have power. Now husband wants fresh baked bread... none of which I can have... Khy
rubyspring 1 Posted August 26, 2011 I would show him where everything is kept in the kitchen and tell him to "have at it"! You can only do so much.
imawhodat 3 Posted August 27, 2011 Just wanted to say I hope you and your family stay safe. I live in hurricane country....Katrina...ugh.... and all of us down here are praying for those that are being affected by that storm. Please update when you can. PhatGurl80 26 Posted August 27, 2011 Yes be safe during this storm. Funny I was in Va Beach during Katrina and now in New Orleans during Irene! My family did heed the warning and went to a shelter last night.
Khy 16 Posted August 30, 2011 Well I am back. Have my exercise cut out for me for the next several days. Due to failure of the sump pump and failure of the back up sump pump, I ended up with 2 feet of Water in a finished basement. Needless to say, furniture is ruined, carpet is totaled, dry wall needs to be removed... and OMG the smell! Tomorrow is moving books and cutting up the carpet for removal. And of course, the only tree down in the neightborhood is the one that tore a hole in my garage. I think Murphy is in love with me. Khy
