Elisabethsew 50 Posted July 25, 2006 I have never heard of getting a second fill one day after the first. Some people take 1-2 weeks before a fill "kicks in" so you might want to be a little conservative about having a total of 7 cc's added to your band in 2 days. I'm at 6.5 cc's after 3 fills and that seems to be just right for me. Bands can be overfilled if the MD justifies it with Inamed. I believe your band holds 10 cc's. Yoda 0 Posted July 25, 2006 Hey Buffie..... I would say get another fill if you don't feel anything after 4. However, I would be cautious about putting in 3......you may feel nothing at 4 but realllllly feel it at 5 and then be in pain at 7. So, I would recommend 1 more cc or 1.5 ccs max. Then, see what happens. Of course, get in touch with Kathy and see what she says. You should be able to take 10 in your band.

Hi Elizabeth, it'll be a week between fills, hopefully that will work out ok! I think I'll try 2 cc today, maybe 1.5 and see what happens. Thanks for listening! Buffie 1 Posted July 31, 2006 Hi Kim, I had my surgery at the Toronto Lapband Center, after surgery I was on clear fluids for 1 week, full fluids for the next 2 weeks, blended food for the next 2 weeks. I was on real food before my fill.
kimmason 0 Posted July 31, 2006 Buffie, and how long before first fill were you eating? were you eating normally or able to tolerate food, Is that the time you have to chew forever before swallowing or after a first fill? thanks
Buffie 1 Posted July 31, 2006 Kim, I was eating normally, I mean I COULD eat normally if I let myself. It felt like I hadn't had the surgery at all, no restriction.
kimmason 0 Posted July 31, 2006 hey buffie, you dynamo who excersizes like crazy! ( and I want to be you when I grow up ,or grow smaller:scared: ) when you ate normally before your first fill, did you have to eat and swallow smaller amounts? did you then drink 30 mions before and an hour after? were you doing all of that? Buffie 1 Posted August 1, 2006 Hi Kim, before my first fill and second fill I felt absolutely nothing, I could eat and drink like I had before, like I had no band at all. Now after my second fill I feel some restriction, but not enough and not for long enough. It's really hard to explain restriction, especially since I really don't have much of it! kimmason 0 Posted August 1, 2006 Buffie and everyone..okay stupid question. I think what frightens me is the choking thing...so right after surgery and after you do the weeks of clear, full and purreed diet, do you have to chew so much that is is mush before it can get in??? I fear having to eat andthen swallow and it is too big what i swallowed. How soon after surgery does one have a fill? Thanks God I couldn't sleep last night, found him all night on computer at 5 am and that peed me off so here I am sleepless in Ontario oops and I htink I read somewhere..when u ghave a fill are you supposed to be on just fluids for a day or so aftrewards and how soon can you eat and when is the last time you are to eat before going to have a fill? Buffie 1 Posted August 2, 2006 Kim, I don't eat anything the day of my fill before the fill. I could eat anything without having to chew until I'm blue in the face after my first 2 fills, something got kinda stuck once but it went down. After this fill today I can't even drink much Water so I haven't been able to chew or eat anything really. It's a hard feeling to describe.
