Feel like crap after eating

Recommended Posts

For about a week now, when I eat, doesn't matter what I feel like crap. Not my stomach. General whole body crappy, head aches, lethargic, feel like everything is sitting super heavy in my gut. Again not painful.

I am eating 2-4 oz depending on what it is. Fairly clean foods, on Vitamins (which don't bother me) still on prilosec, liquid doesn't seem to cause it. Just food. And it doesn't seem to matter what te food is. Though if it is serious Protein it's worse.

Any ideas? Again it isn't my stomach hurting or feeling stretched or bloated. More a whole body response.

When were you sleeved? Is it all foods (note liquids OK)? Could it be a lactose thing? Something else?

Limit the combinations of foods and try to determine if it is something in particular. I am just starting solids, so, for me, everything is a bit *weird*, but I attribute that to the fact my stomach hasn't had anything solid in it for over 2 months (pre-op diet, too). But I think things are getting better.

Could you have a stomach virus? I don't know how it would feel with a sleeve.

Ohh, yes, I COMPLETELY understand. Until about the 7th week, no matter what I ate I felt sick afterwards. Then one day I ate something and I as fine. Once in a while it comes back. It seems that prilosex may have had something to do with it. Because now I am not taking it, i am looking for something else. I can say though that it did go away, now I am struggling with finding how much to eat. Seems like it changes with the time of day and foods. Sometimes I can eat two bites of something and then other things I can have five or six bites It is weird. I am hoping I can get a grip on it soon. I am at a stand still now but I have lost 42 lbs at 10 weeks.

I have had this happen off and on since making it onto mushy and then solid foods. It seems to happen more with denser food to me. I have no idea what it is, but it does pass soon for me - I only feel bad for about 10 minutes, and it's not every meal I eat.

Good luck. You're not alone.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
