Sleeved August 8th

Debbie, I think your weight loss is great! I am just 2 days after you and have lost about 26 lbs. I am averaging between 600-800 calories a day and continue to lose. I am OK with slow losing because I'm hoping it will help my skin elasticity and also help me to avoid gallstones and potential kidney issues. Slow and steady wins the race, right?

So the past 2 days I have eaten almost 1200 calories per day. UGH. I don't know why I feel like I am hungry. I know some people don't feel hunger at all. The other thing is, I'm eating the wrong things. Today I had a Protein bar that had 23 grams of Protein in it but it was 300 calories. That's a lot of calories. I probably won't make that choice again.

Anyway, I still feel like I'm losing slow and at 2lbs per week I'm not going to get to goal in 7 months. I'm going to try stepping up my exercise.

Oh, and I have NO idea what happened to my ticker.

So I'm just reading this thread again because of your new post, and since 24th August when I posted originally, I've lost another 3kg. So that's good!! And I rarely eat anything less than 1200 cals per day.

I've noticed more than ever that even when the scales aren't moving, my body is still changing. During that big stall I went from a 12 to a loose 10, sometimes 8.

And don't be like me coz I'm v. BAD -- but I don't work out at all, aside from walking a lot in the course of my daily life.

I would totally eat that Protein Bar, if I could get my hands on one. Sounds like a very good wallop of protein for only 300 cals!!

My point is, I think you're doing just fine! Two lb a week is fab!! And I'm sure you'll have weeks where it's higher than that (and lower...). Best of luck!

I still cant hold very much food. I dont know if my sleeve is still swollen or what. I only get 400-600 calories a day on a good day and Water is slow too. I only get about 24 to 30 ounces of liquid. I know its not enough and really try to get it down. Anyways, I have lost 35 pounds so far and I am happy with that. I am averaging about 2.5 pounds a week and I am great with that. Its coming off at least. Its almost our 2 month surgiversary!

Swizzly - thanks for letting me in on the details of how you're doing. So you've lost over 70 pounds right? That's phenomenal!!!

Forensichik - sorry to hear you're still struggling with calories but at least you're losing weight and body fat :) thanks for your encouragement too.

Went to the dr. today for my (almost) 2 month check up and weighed 232 on their scale so I've officially lost 40 pounds! Soooo happy with that!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
