15 days out and on purees. I cooked 6 chicken legs and some instant mashed potatoes with gravy. When the chicken came out of the oven I was so overwhelmingly hungry. I ate a whole leg without pureeing it first. I pulled the meat off the leg and dipped each bite in potatoes and gravy. I chewed very well. Now I feel horrible (really full) and guilty because I didn't follow the rules. Have I done damage? Should I call my doc?

Not necessary to call the dr unless you begin to have leak symptoms, like abdominal pain, or fever. But please be careful and follow your drs post op guidelines for your safety. If you chewed really well, you are probably ok. Don't let yourself get extremely hungry before eating, in the beginning I ate pretty often. I think every 2-3 hrs.

At two weeks I was allowed to eat chicken as long as I ate very slowly and chewed well. I agree its a good idea to eat every few hours.

You're still here and posting so I would say no harm no foul. Just give the tummy plenty of time to heal and don't stark eating too much too soon - or you'll regret it - don't ask me how I know. :o

Thanks guys. I'm not in any pain. I was just really worried. It was a few hours ago and I feel fine now. Time to keep drinking. Thank you so much for posting so quickly. You all are the BEST!!!

I didn't have a puree stage, when from Clear Liquids + protein/yogurt to today being able to have minced/shredded chicken, tuna, eggs, soft lowfat cheese, beans/bean Soups. No puree needed. It seemed that my doc seemed pretty conservative!!

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
