I bought a ton of Nexium Mups when I was in Sexy Mexi. For some reason I thought they would be a powder, but these are tablets. Is everyone crushing the tablets and mixing in something?

I never crushed mine - they dissolve in Water easily. I used a shot glass and filled it with water & dropped a Nexium in. It dissolved in about a minute and I stirred it up and threw it back. It's foul, but very effective!

HA HA! I'm a dork!

When I crushed them, I noticed that there were these little round balls inside. I kept thinking...well that's dumb if I have to crush it then why did they put these little balls in here?

Well now I know I don't have to crush them! I'll just blame that on anesthesia.

I couldn't gag them down disolved in water- I would crush mine and mix them with a spoon full of broth. After a month I just couldn't do it anymore. Wrote Dr. Aceves and he said i could change to Prisolec which I can swallow whole thank god. Cathi

I also was putting them in a shot glass or small medicine cup with Water. They dissolve in a minute or 2. Now I am almost 3 months out so I started swallowing them whole and have not had any trouble with them.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
