OnTheFenceMomma 0 Posted August 21, 2011 I'm finally post op! I never thought I'd get there! It almost feels surreal. My surgery was on Wed. the 17th at S. San Francisco Kaiser. I'm glad to be home but I'm in more pain than I was expecting. The incisions going thru my abdominal muscles hurt the most so i take my lortab every 6 hours, on the dot. I can eat about a 1/4 cup of yogurt or applesauce at a time. I'm actually having a nectar Protein Shake right now; pink grapefruit. It's not bad. Not fabulous but considering it's a Protein shake, it's pretty good. ANyone have any tasty mush food recipes? Just wondering.
TexasSunshine 0 Posted August 21, 2011 Wow I can't even have mushy. i had m surgery Monday. Didn't get to come home til thursday evening due to dry heaves so bad. Ugh!!! Much worse than I thought. Pain is tolerable. In fact no pain meds at all. For me it was the nausea feeling and a burning feeling like acid. Im onliquid/protein shakes for three weeks. I'm finally post op! Adri 40 Posted August 21, 2011 I'm glad you're home and resting. Cottage cheese and applesauce are good; non-fat refried Beans were my favorite, and later on you can add a little cheddar cheese on top...yum!
smkeller 3 Posted August 22, 2011 Congratulations, you sound real good. I would avoid the grapefruit though; it interferes with a lot of medicines and is very acidic. I'm finally post op! Lisa Jo B 1 Posted August 22, 2011 Hi I had my surgery Friday the 19th, just got home today. Everything I drink feels stuck, like bad indigestion. Wish I could get my Protein in. Good luck.
