Can't imagine how this could be related to the sleeve unless there is surgical nerve damage, which is unlikely. I would be getting myself to my PCP ASAP...Kathe

Please call your doctor. It might be a deficiency or it might be something else unrelated to your surgery.

It could be low potassium. Are you eyes twitching too?

Hands curling up and loss of sensation is usually a dead on indicator for Vitamin and mineral deficiency. But be safe and seek medical advice ASAP...blink.gif

My doc asked me this very question at my last check up... sign of Vitamin deficiency... Do you take B12 right now? This is especially a problem for vegetarians....but others as well. This can cause brain damage, so get checked out ASAP!

I am taking b12...the little dissolving ones 3 times a day...

Is that your Drs dose recommendation? I was very low, and I take one 4 times a week....

4 times a week?

yes, after getting blood tests every month or so we found that seems to keep it stable.1000 mcg each sub lingual tab.. Im a vegetarian, which can cause B12 deficiencies as well...

I noticed that you posted on a Saturday and most posters asked you to get help ASAP but yet you had to wait until Monday. I suggest asking your surgeon who you can turn to on weekends. Some things just can't wait. IMHO

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
