I have been sleeved for five days and there are some things that I have learned already. (in no particular order)

- the "sharts" are very real and you shouldn't try to guess what is air and what is not. It can be messy.

- most if not all medicines are ridiculously nasty when crushed and mixed with anything

- however those same nasty crushed meds work super fast compared to before

- coughing after surgery hurts

- I have never been so afraid of sneezing in my life

- I havent eaten anything in 5 days and I don't miss it. I have some head hunger but it is controllable unlike before.

- it is surreal to go from never being full to only being able to eat a few small bites of Jello.

Oh and healing incisions ITCH!

Too funny! I am 6 days post op and am not hungry at all either. I have to force myself to get in the liquid & Protein. I do feel quick a restriction between my front ribcage at times. Has anyone else experienced this? Is it just the tightness of the sleeve with the swelling? I am a tiny bit concerned because when they did the post op xrays to check for leaks they didn't find one but said that my stomach was not draining as quickly as it should. The doctor said that once the swelling goes down it will hopefully go away. I expected some restriction but not this much.

Thanks!

I had the same problem and they put me on an antacid prescription. I had bad heartburn too. I'm going to my 5 week follow up next week.

yeah, those **** sharts! Best advice, if you think it is gas, get up and go, don't trust it! If you even feel a twinge, get up and go, don't trust it! If you even have a "feeling" get up and get to the bathroom! Otherwise, cleanup time big time. I will be soooo glad when this phase is over. It is my biggest enemy. I feel fantastic otherwise. I also have been able to slow down and actually "think" what can I have, what is best for my sleeve where before, what the hell, I am having it! The head hunger is bad, but much more controlled than before. I can't wait to start purreed foods and maybe the sharts will eventually pass. Most everyone says it is because of all the liquids and gas getting out. I hope you guys are all right!!!

I am drinking a SF warm apple cider with a teaspoon of SF caramel Syrup. *clear heaven*

I didn't think I would be this happy with my selection of clears at 6 days out. Four days until I get to almond milk and Protein shakes. I can't wait!!!!

(I really hope sleeverella likes almond milk!)

Quote from "The Bucket List" movie : "never pass up a bathroom, never waste a hard-on, and never trust a fart."

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

I'd also like to add, yes sneezing hurts but... speaking of sharts, you'll need to watch these while sneezing.

As they say, liquids in, liquids OUT!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
