Forensikchic 528 Posted August 19, 2011 Today is post op day 11 for me. In the first week after surgery I lost 9lbs. I haven't changed anything that I'm doing except increased my walking. Haven't lost a pound since last Monday. WTF??? Kinda pissed! I had surgery the same day as you! I have not moved on the scale for a couple days either. I saw my dr and NUT today and she said that Protein was the key to it. I need to get as much Protein in and that will help get the scale moving again. She also explained that our bodies are in shock and need time to adjust to each phase. Be patient! WE ARE GOING TO LOSE ALL THIS WEIGHT!
minniekitty 44 Posted August 19, 2011 Don't weigh yourself everyday!!! You'll drive yourself crazy that way. Believe me, I've been doing the same thing, but I need to stop. I gained 0.2 lb since yesterday and I was ready to cry. 0.2 lb.
wondering1 103 Posted August 20, 2011 I HOPE we are going to lose all this weight! I did not go through all this pain and anguish for nothing. I'll try upping my Protein intake starting tomorrow.
Bryn Dawson 9 Posted August 20, 2011 I had a very similar experience - I lost all the Water weight from the IV fluids and then lost another 5 lbs in a week, and then stopped dead. Then I waffled up and down on the scale for 2 weeks. It was sort of frustrating, but BOY DID I LOSE INCHES DURING THAT TIME! Holy crow. I went down a whole size in a week! Frankly, I care less about what the scale says than what my clothes say. I just shrug and assume this is how I am going to lose. I refuse to get all worked up about it. I figure, I've been overweight since I was 7 and obese since I was 22 and morbidly obese since I was 26... what's a little longer now that the scale is coming DOWN (however slowly) instead of going UP? I know it's hard. But it will happen, don't worry. Your body is just going to lose on it's own schedule instead of yours. *hugs*
