At my heaviest - 260lbs - I wore a 2x or 3x shirt and size 22W pants.

Now, 4 months out and weighing 173, I wear a size medium top and size 12 pants.

I still have a hard time looking at my pants and believing that I can actually not only pull them on over my hips, but zip them up & wear them comfortably! Love my sleeve!

This is a tough one for me because I have been trying so hard to hold off on shopping until I absolutely HAVE to go down in size b/c I don't want to waste the money. Example, bra I'm in now is 38D but it's on the tightest notch and I can fit a cell phone and a tube of lipstick in there with zero problem. ;)

FYI....rings are literally fallingoff so I've stopped wearing them. I'm waiting to get them sized until I get closer to goal. Don't know the numbers on that though. As far as shoes, I have always been a solid 9 and sp far that has not changed at all.

Before (at 300+.....highest weight, not surgery day):

3x tops, 24 pants (snug), 12 panties, 44DD bra

Current (185....just shy of 5 months post op):

M or L tops, 12 jeans are loose, 7 panties, 38D bra is loose.

Now......my tiny sister gave me some clothes the other day that she has RECENTLY had on her body. I didn't been try them on at first because I thought "no way will these fit". Wellllllll.......hold on yo your hats.......they FIT! Size 10 pencil skirts and the one that made me CRY HYSTERICALLY in the bathroom is a size 8 denim dress that buttons up the front ith cute little capped sleeves. I never in a million years thought I would fit into a size 8 again! The thing that's driving me nuts is he difference in sizes! How in the world can I fit into a size 8 dress and certain size 12 jeans still be too tight?!?!? Argh!!

Well, fool that I am, I was so horrified by myself pre-op that I not only didn't measure, but I also threw out all of my largest clothes once they got too big, it wasn't until 3 months in, and about 30lb down that I dared to measure at all!

Anyway in UK sizes

5th January 2011 =

235lb

5ft 8

clothing size 24 (about an xxl in the uk, not sure what us size that would be)

Shoe size 6.5 wide fitting (and even in wide fitting no boots ever zipped up!!)

Bra size 42B

21st August 2011

173lb

5ft 8 (thank goodness I'm not shrinking downwards too!)

clothing size 14 (medium ish)

shoe size 6 normal (and I have a wardrobe full of knee high boots which not only fasten, but which I can tuck my jeans into comfortably too!)

Bra size 34/36 C (really REALLY love a shrinking back without a shrinking cup ;) )

Since March I have lost 6inches off my waist, and can only guess that it must be at least 8inches in total given the 30 odd lb lost by that point!

Did I mention that I love my sleeve???:D

Pre surgery: pants 22W, tops 2x-3x, panties XL, bra 42DD, ring 7.5, shoe 11W

AND I'M STILL WEARING THE SAME DAMN CLOTHES!!!!!!!!!

I went shopping at our Lane Bryant yesterday because I had a coupon that was use or lose. My husband encouraged me to try on different size pants. I was able to wear size 20W's ok but he suggested I try 18W's. The 18W's were definately tight but I could get them up and zipped. I bought one pair of tan pants for work and one pair of trouser jeans in the 18W. I am hoping one day to fit into them. But this is Post Op Week 2 for me and I haven't lost any weight this week. Still kinda pissed.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
