Marlluvia 1 Posted July 14, 2006 Dr. C, I was banded two days ago and I feel like I need to belch, but nothing comes up, instead it seems to explode in my chest? It really hurts, is this just gas, or something else? Also, when lying down I don't feel it, but as soon as I sit up, the pain is there again. Thank you in advance. Trace Curry 1 Posted July 14, 2006 This is usually from swelling, the band sort of acts as a one-way valve. Air can go down when you swallow it, but has a hard time coming back out. After the swelling subsides it tends to go away. FunnyDuddies 6 Posted July 17, 2006 Just want to add that the pian from sitting up is from the air rising and pushing against the opening.
