Funny story I thought the Mexico sleever would fine musing

Recommended Posts

I went out to dinner tonight with my family to a Chinese Restaurant. I know not a good choice for food but It was more to be with the family than to eat. As dinner winded down, the conversation turn to my surgery. Mostly negative so I won't repeat the whole conversation. After about 30 minutes defending my decision for WLS, the waitress brought me my fortune cookie and the bill.

The fortune cookie read.....Sometimes travel to new places leads to great transformation.

32 days and counting!!!!!:whoo:

Yay! That's awesome! Don't worry they will come around. For some reason people think its going to be a dog grooming/furniture store/weight loss surgery shack lol but to hell with what they think now because a year from now they will all feel very different!

Can't wait to meet ya Lori! See ya in a few weeks sista!!

I had Chinese yesterday. Actually my wife wanted it the night before so I ate some mongolion chicken with onions over three meals, that night and two yesterday. I skipped the rice. The restaurant decided to make it super spicy. I used to love spicy foods. I am paying today. I am four and half weeks out. I probably should have waited a little longer. I am in such pain today in my stomach and throwing up all night I called in sick from work today. Just laying in bed with my computer.

Love the fortune and love chinese food too! I told my Mom that I would explaine anything about the surgery, but she can't use emotional blackmail or put down my choice of having the surgery if she ever wants me to include her in whats going on in my decisions. It has curbed her tongue and we have better conversations now.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
