Scale hasn't moved in WEEKS!

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

Sorry I've been MIA, but I'm trying so hard not to burst out in tears because I haven't lost weight in weeks!:( I consider myself a "veteran" going though two lap bands and now the sleeve. I know I'm doing all the right things and for the life of me I can't figure out why in the heck I'm not losing! I know it's common to have a stall a couple of weeks after surgery, but I'm 5.5 weeks out and haven't lost since 2.5 weeks! I've upped my Water intake, am powerwalking 3-5 times a week, eating lean proteins..the whole 9 yards! I guess on the bright side I know I'm losing inches because I'm down a size and well...i *have* lost 22 pounds (5 lbs pre-op) and the best part is I've had ZERO issues since the day I got out of surgery..but C'MON..I'm ready to see that scale move again!!! Thanks for letting me vent and again, I'm sorry I haven't been around to support my fellow Firecrackers. I hope everyone is doing great! Oh..and my son turned 1...that was a great day! Pic attached :)

I'm sorry this is happening to you. I also hit a STALL at week 3-4. Finely this week the scale went down 2 lbs, And yet like you, I am down one pant size.

We need to trust that the process will work. We didn't gain this weight in one month, so it will take longer than a month to come off

I'm glad we have a place where we can ventangry.gif

Yet support each other in this adventurebiggrin.gif

Keep doing what you are doing, good things will follow

Karen

With the lap band and other gains and losses your body might be holding onto the extra weight saying, "Wait just a minute, what is going on here? Are we starving?" After it gets it's barrings it will say, "Oh she's eating, I have enough protien. We can get rid of this fat now." and you will see a big drop. I remember stalling for 3 weeks and waking up to a 5lb loss on day and a 3 the next. Keep away from carbs and keep on keeping on.

Keep to the plan and it will come off. I had actually had a gain of 4 pounds 2 weeks ago and that stuck around for a week before suddenly it started melting off again. I know it's hard when the scale doesn't move, but as you realize, your losing inches, so it's just your body trying to cope with what you did to it. The stall will break eventually.

One thing my dietician told us - don't weigh every day. Only weigh at the very most once a week. I try to do that. It's not as depressing then. :)

I feel ya!

I did not lose hardly ANYTHING the whole month of August. 4lbs is all. I mean, I know a loss is a loss, but come on!! I also have lost 3 lbs this month. So in almost 2 months, I have lost 7lbs! NOT COOL!!

I am only a few lbs from goal and I do workout and eat like I should, but this has me nuts!!

It is what it is and I am happy where I am now, but wish these last few lbs would disappear!!

Kelly :D

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
