For all you negative nellies out there.....

"If you think you might fail then yes, you might. But if you KNOW you will succeed then you will."

There is a similar weight regain discussion going on another forum right now. One of the best posts was from someone who suggested that once you are at goal, you make going even one pound above your bounce range totally unacceptable. You take action immediately to drop that extra pound. You do not accept 2 pounds or that turns to 5 pounds and that turns to 10 and the next thing you know you are obese again. This is what I've always done, but turned out to be an "AHA" moment for several members.

Hi love tennis,

Im sorry u gained so much. I hope ur not too uncomfortable. I do think there is some connection btwn before and after surgery BMI and wt gain. But i think u r the first to say u didnt have too far to go after surgery. Thanks for sharing and good luck.

Wow, this is a struggle after reaching goal. I have gained and am having difficulties getting back on track. Sigh...it is helpful to read about our struggles. For me, I have to start over with the basics. I just can't get my head into this. Makes me really sad and frustrated too.

I hate to say it, but it's nice to have some company with this situation. When I first started gaining, I was alone.

We can fight better together!

Yes. Misery loves company sort of thing. I've been doing the 5 day pouch test today, and I've lost 7 pounds so far. How about you? Are you ready to try to lose the weight again?

@@TheNewSusie - sorry I am still new to some of the terms here...what is the "16:8"?

The 5:2 I somewhat get, at least I think I do :(

Unless you can explain that one too.

Thanks in advance -

Twisted Stomach the fix(gastrectomy with gastrojejunostomy). By-pass, (approval from insurance on an urgent basis), will need surgery asap,

Wow, you poor thing. I wish you the very best with your surgery and recovery. Have you been suffering since your surgery in 2012?

Does anyone responding here have experience with going back to wt loss drugs like phentermine and metformin? I did not do well with metformin before surgery but i did lose 100 on phentermine before surgery. Now that i am gaining again, i asked for newer meds. The cardio wants me to go back on metformin and phentermine. When i said i do not want metformin [in an email) he cautioned me not to make any decisions before we discuss it. I feel boxed in. I would love to give him the name of a newer drug i might try.

Thanks

Good morning all! I was sleeved Jan 28, 2015. I have dropped 77 lbs and I am stalled. I go up and down 4lbs and it's driving me crazy! I went to my one year follow up and the nurse said "you haven't lost much weight but lots of inches." I felt even worse and I thought that was insensitive for her to say. Here I am already annoyed with my stall and she just added to my anxiety.

I don't know what to do. I just find myself being more self conscious about every thing.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
