20 Mi Hiking & NO LOSS!

Recommended Posts

I agree with the other's about you not eating enough!! In the first month or so, I was only getting about 500 calories a day, but I was exercising 45 minutes a day and burning alot of that. I was so disappointed when I would not lose each week when I would work so hard during the week eating right and exercing.

Someone posted to me the exact thing about eating enough. Seems kinda silly to eat more, but you really have to or your body will think it is starving. I try to get 700-800 most days and when I exercise, I go up to about 1000.

I lose faithfully every week now!!

Good luck!

Kelly :)

Do you recommend additional carbs or Protein for the extra calories? I've been shooting for 90 gms protein and so most food is protein in the form of meat, shake, or Greek yogurt. I track every bite through a sparkpeople app on my phone. I track all outdoor exercise via GPS on the endomondo app. I should mention that I'm always constipated now (TMI?), so it's possible that some carbs in the form of Fiber might help. Thanks again for the support!

You don't need more carbs. Keeping your carbs below 50 a day is a good guideline, it's the Water, to rebuild muscle (after you tear them which working out does) it requires a lot of water.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
