lillee 0 Posted August 13, 2011 I don't know what is wrong with me, I am happ.y, sad, scared, anxious, negative, self sabotaging and excited all rolled into one. Its like a rollercoaster of emotions since I met with the surgeon and picked my date which is 8/24. Anyone else feel crazy? Anyone else abandon their diets to eat everything they wont be able to eat again? Help!!!!
FishingNurse 1,211 Posted August 13, 2011 For sure I felt the same way. I gained 7 lbs the month before surgery! But now those days are over. Keep your eye on being thin and healthy! it helps. It will be so much better than eating, I know it.
Indymom 132 Posted August 13, 2011 In my mind I thought I would go on a wild binge, but I decided that having a "last meal" meant that I couldn't eat certain things ever again. I feel like once I'm completely healed and close to or at goal, there's really not much I can't eat in moderation. However, the night before I started my pre-op diet I did go out for a nice steak dinner since I can't have red meat for 18 months (with the exception of lean ground beef). pamblan 2 Posted August 14, 2011 To steal a quote from a friend....I am fully entrenched in the last weekend before pre-op diet food funeral!! I have eaten everything without abandon for the last two days and now feel like CRAP!!!! I start my preop on Monday and think I will slow down the funeral procession after I drink some ice cold Miller Chills tonight!! I think it is only natural for all of us to be on a rollercoaster especially as the day draws closer!! Good luck to you, it is nice to know someone else is feeling the same way I am!! xo In my mind I thought I would go on a wild binge, but I decided that having a "last meal" meant that I couldn't eat certain things ever again. Raine 170 Posted August 14, 2011 What you are going through is absolutely natural. I won't say everyone has gone through it the same way but I can say I did. The two weeks before my pre-op diet I ate what I wanted when I wanted. Not because I thought I would NEVER eat them again but because I knew it would be a while before I got to eat them again. The sleeve is a wonderful thing. Once I reach goal I will allow myself some of those pleasures just in smaller doses as I try to maintain. Reading the posts from people that are at goal and trying to maintain, they eat for the most part what they want to stay where they are at and not lose anymore weight. That is our ultimate goal, to eat like a normal person and not feel guilty or gain weight from over indulging like we have been.
