When did you feel good post op

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone! I was sleeved Tuesday and came home yesterday. I wasn't prepared for the aftermath of surgery that's for sure! I feel much better than Wednesday but still very sore and having difficulty drinking enough. When did you feel at least pretty good? I can't wait!

The first week was awful. By the middle of the second week, I was starting to feel better. Not good but better. I am 2 1/2 weeks post-op. I guess my only complaints are I am still struggling to get somethings down (not everything) and I still feel tired. I think this is a legitimate complaint, low calories, low carb, low fat, no sugar....

I'm also 5 weeks out and I feel normal. I've been walking 2 miles now for just about two weeks and have good energy. That first 2 to 3 weeks is not so hot but after that you get down to normal daily living and all is good.

My first couple of weeks were rough. I became anemic and was SOOOO tired. I went back to work after day 7 because I did not have any pain, but I was really tired for about 2-3 weeks. Then I felt awesome about week 3.

Hang in there it does get better everyday!

Kelly ;)

Yesterday (Day 4) was one of the hardest days for me. Day 5 seems to be turning a corner - I feel almost totally normal. I just feel like I've done too many sit ups.

Hi kelly! I am anemic now and my surgery is on wednesday! I was wondering if they let you take Iron pills immediately after surgery, or after you were diagnosed. or did they do somthing different? Thanks for your help!!!

I was sleeved Weds 8/10 and just came home today. I still have some localized gas pain and some soreness, but otherwise just tired. :) I get to start full liquids tomorrow so hopefully they will go down OK.

Hello I'm Jamee from Texas and I was sleeved on Tuesday . I don't think this is normal but I'm STARVING. When I try and drink my liquids my tummy grumbles and hurts. Is it horrible that I'm looking forward to eating soft solids?

The first 5 days were pretty rough for me. By about 3 1/2 weeks out, I feel pretty much back to normal. :)

I got out of the house today, had surgery on Monday so this is technically day 5. I drove to several places including my drs office to get the chewable Iron tablets that I forgot! I am really tired because we also went to two stores for school suppllies! I cant beleive I was able to do that. I am extremely tired now. I need to drink more. I feel almost hungry but I dont think its physical hunger. I think its in my head. I smelled lots of food and it made me want it. When I really think about it though.. I had my days of eating everything because it smelled good. Now I have to get used to my new life. I am excited to start Protein Drinks again on Monday. I am looking forward to them! I have three weeks liquid diet and then soft food. I will also be happy just to chew again! I am going to rest more this weekend because I have to go back to work on Monday.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
