melaniec 0 Posted August 11, 2011 I'm not complaining by any means...but am a little concerned. I was sleeved 9 days ago...surgery day I was 252...this morning I was 234...that's 18 lbs already. Should I be concerned??? Melanie
Rev Me Up! 75 Posted August 11, 2011 That's usually a good problem :-) You will have your biggest, fastest weight loss in the 2 weeks after surgery. Then you will probably stall and worry that the surgery isn't working. Then your body will fall into a rhythm of a couple pounds per week. I suppose its possible to lose too fast, but a lot of the early weight is Water from the IV fluids during surgery. Keep following the Dr's orders for nutrition and you will stay healthy in spite of the rapid weight loss. Congrats!!
Foxbins 625 Posted August 11, 2011 What Rev said...I lost 17 lbs in 10 days post-op and I was smaller than you. The following month I lost 8...so enjoy the big drop!
Tiffykins 673 Posted August 11, 2011 It's Water weight. As much as we'd like it to be fat, at this stage in the game, it's just water. It'll slow down to some extent based on what type of post-op guideline you follow.
