HDubSleevery 25 Posted August 11, 2011 I am only a few days away from surgery so to fight my anxiety, I am doing research (some of it over and over again). I finally watched the actual surgery video on the MBC website. Great Googly Moos! I was holding my breath through the whole thing. No wonder we are so sore afterwards! Has anyone else watched it? I was fascinated and grossed out all at once. For some reason I now really want a picture of what they take out of me. I keep imagining it is going to be HUGE and it will probably be the size of a golfball and completely overrated. HDub
Foxbins 625 Posted August 11, 2011 It's bigger than a golf ball--I can't remember if it was here or on OH someone posted a picture of their removed stomach. It looked to me to be about the size of your two fists held side-by side...maybe a little longer.

Gaylebco 11 Posted August 12, 2011 I'm an RN and watched the whole thing. It was one of the most straight forward procedures I have seen. Cut and dry...per say. Just focus on your health and good luck!
fairyfaye 9 Posted August 12, 2011 My surgon gave me a DVD of my op! It was scary and rather gross! But the thing that scared me the most was the amount of fat clogging up my insides! Keeps me strong when I want sine chocolate I tell ya! Lol
bikerchick519 202 Posted August 12, 2011 I went to youtube and watched several different ones. I liked the ones that were narrated so you knew exactly what they were doing. I was mesmerized. I thought it was facinating.
CoffeeBean 4 Posted August 13, 2011 As for my excess stomach, my sister and I were wondering if I should make Jerky out of it or have a purse made. LOL!
Lakelady 2 Posted August 14, 2011 I'm a nurse and thought the vidoes of the surgery looked so sweet and simple. I guess it depends on your perspective. I only had post op pain for about 24 hours.
