Rootman 1,101 Posted August 9, 2011 We had a mini family reunion this weekend, me, my wife, my sister, her hubby, her two kids and her 11 grandkids as well as my brother and his 2 kids all met at a local hotel that had a wonderful indoor pool in an atrium - man that made it nice especially in the 100+ degree heat we've been having. I was the only thin male adult there, my 13 and 15 year old nephews actually outweighed me! I can see it's going to be tough hanging around them though, I started grazing / snacking on the stuff they brought with them, Cookies, fruit Snacks, chips - you name it - and GAINED 1.5 pounds! I'm obese again after just dropping below a BMI of 30! Man this sucks! I love them all to death but I just cannot hang around them for long due to the bad eating habits and over supply of fattening foods. Now I know how I got to be 375+ pounds in the first place! KellyL 173 Posted August 9, 2011 Sounds like you had a blast! That 1.5 lb gain should come off easily and quickly. Don't sweat it! 1 mythreechildren2001 reacted to this
thinoneday 445 Posted August 9, 2011 Yup gaining the weight back is very very easy! We may have this great tool, but WE HAVE to watch what we shovel into our faces. . . you'll be ok, get back on track and all will be good. . . probably Water weight from salty Snacks. . . increase your water, Protein, and exercise a bit, i'm sure it'll fall off. . . kellyw74 258 Posted August 9, 2011 Serves as a great reminder that what we have is a "TOOL" and not magic! Get back on track, you will be fine! Kelly
lsereno 2,525 Posted August 10, 2011 Family and friends - it's tough! I know it will come off soon, but it's scary seeing how fast it can come back. Tiffykins has a good handle on having a good time and maintaining her weight. I hope I am able to emulate her when I am at goal. I'm rootin' for you rootman- I bet you might be back at merely overweight within a day or two! Lynda
Amanda131 214 Posted August 10, 2011 I am betting you did not eat 5,400 calories OVER your daily caloric needs on this trip. That's what you had to do to truly gain 1.5 pounds. My money's on the Water weight that those awesome tasting, sodium infested snack foods always leave behind. I'm betting you are back to normal after a few days of your usual routine. Regardless, you recoginized a hazard in your new life and are now aware of the potential for danger as you move forward. Good for you!
