Texasmom65 23 Posted August 8, 2011 Ok, I recently tired the Skinny Latte at Starbucks and loved it. I'm not a super coffee drinker....other than your normal coffee with Creamer. So since basically giving up coffee since surgery, would like a Protein drink that taste like the skinny latte to enjoy in the mornings. I prefer warm drinks over the cold ones. Is that possible with the Protein powders? I tried a recipe on here that was suppose to be like a frap....I didn't care for it. Maybe I put to much instant coffee in it...not sure. So hit me guys with some recipes.....remember, I prefer warm drinks.< /p> Thanks, Robin Note: I put this in the recipe section too....but I know alot of more people come here. Texasmom65 23 Posted August 8, 2011 Thanks, I have some of the click. It's not bad, but a little strong for me. It's nothing like the Skinny latte at Star Bucks. Thanks everyone.

decamom 31 Posted August 8, 2011 Syntrax Nectar makes a Cappuccino Protein powder...23 gm of protein per scoop. And then Unjury makes a chicken broth drink that is fabulous! 21 gms per scoop. If you like your drinks warm...these are both great. Sadly, hot Water makes the protein powdered drinks curdle so 130 degrees is about the max for heat. I keep mine in a coffee cup on one of those candle warmer thingies and it stays nice and toasty while I sip away! Living the dream!!!, Laura
SeattleSue 25 Posted August 8, 2011 Hey TM, Instead of the instant coffee cold frapp, try a cup of strong coffee (I LOVE my Keurig..sing cup, but you could use reg coffee or even a press.) Let the coffee cool cool below 130 since that is supposed to clump the Protein. Add your vanilla Protein powder (if it's the skinny vanilla you like, don't add any other flavor). YOu can add any SF Syrup (in a very small amount to avoid that aftertaste- 2 capfuls is plenty for me) and give a quick blend. I don't know, it's really a taste preference. KarenF 0 Posted August 8, 2011 Robin, I really like the Amaretto flavored cappucino by BariWise. http://www.firstacce...ervingsbox.html Add 8 ounces of hot Water, stir. I think you'll reallly like it. Karen pre-sleeve 8-2011
Texasmom65 23 Posted August 8, 2011 Thanks everyone. Going to be testing a few and also checking out the Amaretto one.
Bryn Dawson 9 Posted August 8, 2011 (I LOVE my Keurig..sing cup, I totally have to second you on that. Our Keurig is the most used appliance in our kitchen - including the stove! TM - I brew a large cup (10oz) at 192 degrees, add 6 oz cold skim milk to thin it out and cool it down below 130 degrees (because Protein powders DEFINITELY clump at higher temps,) throw in some Benefiber to keep things happy downstairs and add 1 scoop of unjury Protein powder (either chocolate Splendor or vanilla.) It tastes like a strong latte, and doesn't have that 'protein shake' taste to it.
Cindy-Lynn 10 Posted August 11, 2011 I like the Atkins Protein Shake Cafe Mocha flavor. In Dallas, I can find it only at CVS. I drink it cold but maybe you could warm it? Those recipes above sound great.
Texasmom65 23 Posted August 11, 2011 Well I've been experimenting....so this is what I came up with: 8 oz of FF milk 1 scoop of vanilla Protein powder 1 tsp of Decaf instant coffee 1 cap full of Vanilla Torani SF Syrup spinkle of splenda. I blend well. Then put in microwave for about a minute to warm...and yum yum yum. Calories 212 (protein powder has 130) and total Protein 35 gms. Yum... Now that is coffee working for you. With the milk I get added protein. I could try with Water or 1/2 Water and 1/2 milk to cut down the calories, but if that is all I do for Breakfast, didn't think it was bad.
