buzydebb 0 Posted August 8, 2011 I am on my Pre-Op diet and have been drinking 20 glasses (8 oz) of Water each day. Is that too much? Will it cause me damage? It has been a great way to keep the hunger down but I don't want to do anything harmful.
iegal 460 Posted August 8, 2011 20 glasses? How do you stay out of the bathroom and have time to do this? Like anything - you can over do. Call your surgeon or PCP to get solid answers. Drinking too much Water (I do not know how much since I am not a medical professional) can do your body harm. Take a walk and do not stress. Good luck. Just-A-Gem 86 Posted August 8, 2011 160 oz of Water a day will not harm you... If you tried to do that in an hour or two it could dilute your electrolyte balance and cause some damage but over the course of the day is fine. At 300 lbs, my recommended daily water intake is 150 oz....

PdxMan 4,292 Posted August 8, 2011 Yeah, I drank at least that much pre-op. Nothing to worry about. Just know, as others have posted, you will be unable to get anywhere near that post-op. I struggle to get the 64 oz.
