Hello,

I want to introduce myself, this is my first post, but I've been reading this site for over 2 months and have learned a lot of things. I got sleeved on July 19th, so I'm almost 3 weeks out. I've lost 28lbs so far, but I've notice this week that I've only lost 1lb. Everyday is getting a little easier as far as energy goes, but I still can't seem to figure out my new tummy. I am on mushy/soft food stage but it seems that everytime after I finish eating, i have a uncomfortable feeling on the top of my esophagus, like the food is just sitting there. It takes about 30-45 mins to go away. I don't think I'm over eating but now I think maybe I am. It doesn't hurt if I take like 3 bites, but I've tried that only thing is that I feel hungry within an hour, so I try to get in more, It takes me about 30 mins to get in like 8 bites. Anyone else experience this? what do you recommend? That's the only complaint I have other than that everything is going good.

Well I'm looking forward for the months to and years to come so all this weight could come off and I can enjoy life again, and be of some help to other new sleevers.

Thanks

Hilsia

Congratulations on getting the sleeve. What you are experiencing is normal - many people experience that feeling when they are eating - it's a sign to stop eating because you are full.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
