trizzy35 50 Posted August 5, 2011 I am in the hotel right now, (absolutely gorgeous!!), and will be getting sleeved tomorrow by Dr. Aceves! Had the pre-ops done today...rather hurried and didn't like how we had to walk around in hospital gown....but overall good. The anesthesiologist said he was going to put some kind of pain killer in my spine, which really freaks me out!! Anyone else have that happen? I think he said it was for the pain after the surgery, not during it.....Anyway, would appreciate any and all prayers and good wishes! See y'all on the losers bench!!! newdaycomn 0 Posted August 5, 2011 Congrats! You know we will all be saying a prayer for you and all the sleevers tomorrow!
kekerene 35 Posted August 5, 2011 I was sleeved 6 weeks ago by Dr. Aceves and I do not recall a pain killer in the spine but after I was knocked out I don't know what went on, LOL. All I can say is that I had a great experience. Dr. Aceves and his team are awesome and you have nothing to be worried about. Best of luck to you, please keep us posted
trizzy35 50 Posted August 6, 2011 /Well, just got sleeved and am in my room recovering.....Dr A. was nice and so was Dr. Campos.....just an update!
sarsar 824 Posted August 6, 2011 Glad you are doing well! Ask Dr. Campos about the spine meds, he will talk to you about anything and take as much time as you need! I am interested in hearing the answer bc I have heard of this with others too. I didn't have anything in my spine that I know of, I would think that I would have known if I did because I asked a million questions.lol Did you have the young or the old anesthesiologist? I think I had both? The old one told me he was gonna do the spine thing, but the young checked up on me later....I gues the spine thing is for a nerve blocker that lasts 20-30ish hours after surgery--helps keep pain down....It worked..the only REAL pain I had was the gas pain in my shoulder, which got REALLY bad..was crying...but has since gone away....now feeling like I ate too much at Thanksgiving-even though just sipping apple juice-so trying to walk and keep standing up. Hopefully all will be well tomorrow!

I was one of the lucky few who didn't even get the gas pain in my shoulder or sides. Each day you feel better, I promise! If you seem to be doing well with cold things ask for some crushed ice. It is so good, I loved it when I was there.
