I had gall stones back in 98. It was one of the single worst things EVER. So incredibly painful. Mine went misdiagnosed for 18 months. Don't ask me how no one figured it out. They did every test in the world except the ultrasound. We were on a military base at the time. When we got moved to the next base, they immediately diagnosed it AND they sent a letter back reprimanding the doctor who didn't correctly diagnose it b/c evidently it was classic case. Anyway, I lived with that pain and it was gut wrenching and awful. I had stress for awhile afterwards every time I got a stomach ache for fear it was coming back even though my gb was out. I am glad you got it taken care of and I am SHOCKED your surgeon didn't take it out at the same time. GRRRR
