PollyPoo 0 Posted August 4, 2011 Does anyone have any great suggestions or recipes for being on puree foods? Right now I'm on light puree. It's getting old real quick though.
Nancy Rivers 24 Posted August 4, 2011 What's light puree? When I was on puree foods - I could have pretty much anything that could be put into a blender and made into a puree. I had Soups, tuna salad, chicken salad, crab salad, egg salad, scrambled egg, etc.
PollyPoo 0 Posted August 5, 2011 The Dr. wants day 15 - 17 to be practically like liquids only like a thin pancake batter. Just slightly thicker. Even the puree sounds more liquidy than what you were describing. I could handle having tuna fish already. That sounds good actualyy. It's funny how some people didn't have to go through all this. I'm sure the dr. just wants to be safe but boy, it's about killing me to constantly drink everything. What's light puree? PollyPoo 0 Posted August 8, 2011 When you finally ate puree foods did you fill up right away? The Dr. said to just eat for 30 min. and then to stop. I could barely eat for 20 min. and I think I was overly stuffed. Will that change? It's sooo weird that I'm just eating a little and then getting totally stuffed. Would love to hear from those that are way down the line on this process. The Dr. wants day 15 - 17 to be practically like liquids only like a thin pancake batter. Just slightly thicker. Nancy Rivers 24 Posted August 10, 2011 Yeah, it will change. You're still swollen from the surgery. As that swelling goes down, then you'll be able to eat more. My surgeon had me using full liquids and puree foods starting on day 3 after surgery - though to the 20th day. Then starting on day 21, I could have "mushy" foods - or soft foods. Starting at 6 weeks, I can have "normal" foods. When I started mushies last week, I had some meatloaf and it was wonderful! I could only eat about 2 ounces though. Now, a week later, I can have 3 ounces. I can eat a full 8 ounces of a thin Soup though - so it will depend on the food how much you can eat at a time. Just listen to your body and you will know when you are full. Do not push it otherwise you will end up throwing up. Don't worry about the time it takes this early out to eat. As the swelling goes down and you are able to eat better, then pay attention to the time.
