2 weeks out and WOW......

Recommended Posts

I had my follow up appt with the surgeon and am officially down 28lbs..... I have been the same for a few days now so maybe this is a stall? Started on mush foods so maybe the weight is slowing down!!!

Best decision of my life.... So far!

I have been getting like a tight spasm feeling when I eat some foods (mushes tuna, cottage cheese etc) but does that get better?

But i also get those spasm pain things they come.. and go and then come back a few minutes later its like "whoa maybe i shouldnt have ate that?" then it goes away and i feel fine. Weird. Well i hope it gets better and congrats!

Awesome. I am 5 weeks out now and down 27 lbs, so you are doing fantastic. I was like you, I lost 23 lbs in the first 2 weeks then hit a 2 week stall. Then I lost 4 lbs in a weekend and now I haven't lost anything in a few days, it's really weird. I am thinking this is all normal because I keep in touch with the other gals that were in the hospital having surgery too and all 4 of us have lost about the same since our surgery date. Everyone loses differently though.

About the pain you are experiencing. I would say if it is bad pain to maybe go back a bit and give yourself a few more days on liquids or if one food item makes you uncomfortable, try something else and hold off on that one for a while. It takes a while for your stomach to heal in there and some heal quicker than others. You just don't want to upset your stomach, try to be as gentle on it as possible while in the healing stages. If the pain is really bad or you start vommiting I would definitely contact your doctor.

Good luck to you!

If it feels like your food is getting stuck about halfway down then yes, it will go away once the swelling goes down in your stomach.

I'm 16 days out from surgery and after 2 weeks liquids am now in mushies-graduating-to-non-mush period. When I get the feeling you're describing I know it's my body's signal that I should stop eating. I reach that point after eating 1/4 to 1/2 cup volume depending upon what it is that I'm eating. Before I reach that point I sometimes hiccup or burp (the "soft" signal folks talk about). I'm learning to work the tool and stop BEFORE I get to that tight feeling.
