I prefer weekends. Although I can do some week nights, I get up really early during the week and hate the idea of having to eat and run just to get enough rest. Unless I have a prior engagement, when scheduled on the weekend, I don't schedule anything around it so I can take my time and enjoy everyone's company. That's my 2 cents ... with inflation maybe worth a penny!

Hey question - I know I keep changing things...

My mom is having surgery on Thursday the 3rd...so my dad who normally runs the grill will more then likely be with her. So now I don't have a grill cook. :) So would everyone be against me getting some rotisorri (sp) chickens from sams? I can get nuggets or something for the kids. Sorry but I just thought of that today.....

Thoughts...then I will start thinking of what else we need. I should have paper products there and I know I have forks here to bring.

For that matter, we could always bring some chickens with us. They're generally inexpensive, moist, and taste really good!

Honestly you should get Costco's chicken I think they are 4.99 and I don't roast anylonger because it is the BEST chicken on earth, we had t for dinner tonight.

Weekneds are fine with me too. I'm just home alone a lot at night with everyone running around and I get lonesome sometimes.

Kim will have paper plates, chicken, chicken nuggets for the kids, I think I have napkins if not I can stop and get those at the dollar store, I have plastic forks etc....Is there anything I am forgetting? I can pick a few drinks. I will not have the grill going but there is a stove and microwave in the house we can use. (Melissa in case I need fix something your daughter. So no problem.)

Kathy + 1 child (black bean/corn salsa and chips)

Angie + 3 - 5 kids (a mean potato salad.) hehe

Wavy (depends on time, if come fruit/ or Soup. could she be on liquids) haha

Karen - Mashed Cauliflower

Melissa + 2 kids (veggie something)

Dianne - can't make it

I think my friend Belinda who is in the process of getting her testing done might be there with her little one. Our DH's will probably be there for a little bit just so we don't have to watch the kids so much....Aren't we bad.

Am I forgetting anyone? Please anyone is welcome just let me know you are coming so I know how much chicken/ nuggets to have.

I have bad news. I got my scrapbook class registration and a class I thought I had on friday, I have on Saturday. The class isn't over till 5:30, which means that I wouldnt get to the party till after 6..more like 630.

Will there be anyone other than me after 5?

I dont want to put anyone, especially since I cant swim anyway.. its that TOM. (thank God actually, I was afraid that i would have it during or right after surgery.. uck yucky yick.)

Wavy - did I send you directions? If so did I include the #? Is so just give us a call we can let you know if anyone is there. :) We said from like 4 - 7 so I don't know how long we will be there. You know us when we start talking. Plus there could be some newbies there so we might have a lot of talking to do.

Ok so we have @ 7 adults and 7 kids? My parents are probably going to crash the party. :) I told them it was ok. She gave me money to buy an extra chicken. She is so funny. I am going to make some veggie dishes. Nothing fancy or hard. Maybe try to get some fruit cut up also. (It all depends on how quick I get out of the consignment sale tomorrow morning. YEAH..it's that time.)

So I will have the chicken, nuggets, plates, flatware...is there anything else I need? Cups? anything? Anyone?

Please remember to bring towels and sun block. I will try to be there @ 3 incase anyone gets there early.

I have a surprise that isn't "healthy living" good but it's so good that I wanted to share with ya'll. Also I think I have mentioned this...I know we have other person coming that hasn't responed on this thread. My DH will not be there because he has a charity ride he is going to do. Gotta love that bike.

See you all tomorrow!!!!

We are bringing a watermellon for sure. Going to try to make a mushroom potato thing, but its a matter of if I'll have time. LOL I'll load up my extra chairs in case they are needed or wanted. Karah is so excited, she has packed a thing of "swim" stuff LOL. Kristen is a teenager and can't appear too excited as that would be "uncool".

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
