kelmom 0 Posted August 2, 2011 Hello, So, I kind of started this process last fall but my PCP was against the surgery stating that he felt I was healthy enough to do it on my own. He told me to go on the Optifast diet and the large expense was too much for me financially so I tried again on my own. I meet the requirements that my insurance has set for the surgery, however, i'm not sure where to go from here? What steps did you take with your insurance? adargie 159 Posted February 21, 2013 Hello I am just reading your post and wonder if you were able to get priority health to cover your WLS. I have them and am very nervous about getting them to approve I am only one month 2 of the 6 month program so I have awile but I also have no comorbidities and a bmi of 40 so I was told I can't lose any weight! Anyway just wanted some insight
Jojo828 12 Posted February 22, 2013 I had double coverage with bc bs. One of them rejected me outright no appeal the other I just got approved through by submitting a ridiculous amount of paper work. What I learned was its not always the insurance co. Sometimes it's your employer. Check your company's plan and see what is excluded.
