Why do these annoying ads keep popping up when I post a topic? How do I make it stop?

It must be some new plug-in that is supposed to amp up advertising dollars, and I doubt there is anything you can do to prevent it.

From what I can tell, the "Fast Reply" option has been disabled, and the new ad is coming up in every single, new post on the forum.

Shameless advertising has always been this and lapbandtalk's main drawback, and a lot of people leave because of the constant changing advertising schemes. The owner of the forum gets paid for "every click" that occurs on any of the plug ins so I made it a point to NEVER click on any link or plug in here. That's why they sneak them into posts, have the sensitive little tab at the top of the page.

Thanks

I will be very careful not to click on any of the ads. I didn't mind the ones at the side. But the ones in my reply piss angry.gif me off. Also I don't like that the fast reply button has been disabled. Several times I have written long replies only to have them lost or at least not in a form that I was able to post.

Yes, Yes!!! Argh!!!! :censored: Hopefully the forum leaders/creators see this thread. I have also noticed that it has slowed the site down a bit....anyone else notice that? Takes too long to 'think' when switching betweent topics/forums and when the reply box opens up!!

Not to promote any other site, because I truly do love this one he best and feel like home here, but OH doesn't have THIS many blatant, unavoidable ads....

I don't mind, I'm sure a lot of work goes into maintaining a site. THOUGH I will say having to log in everytime i come to the page is on my last nerve.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
