lml32937 65 Posted August 2, 2011 Has anyone had to loose over 150-200 lbs with the sleeve?? I had the band and knew the loss would be slow and it was but I don't egret it. I am reading a lot on here about people who are 250lbs or less and are having results of loosing 50-80 lbs right away etc... I would give ANYTHING to be 200lbs right now!!! When I was on the LB forums a lot of people were like 150-200lbs wanting to loose just 25-50 lbs with the band and I was like what>>??? I don't want to be or sound rude but has anyone here been over 300lbs and lost 100+lbs or more?? Just curious as to those statistics and how long they are able to keep it off. Also since I have lost a lot of weight with the band I already have saggy skin which I know will get worse... What do you do to help with this?? Spanx? surgery right away?? Duct tape (just kidding) lol...
SeattleSue 25 Posted August 2, 2011 There are people here that have successfully lost over 150 pounds...and quite a few in progress! Check out the boards (there is one for different weight loss targets), and welcome to the forum. Susan
Nancy Rivers 24 Posted August 2, 2011 Welcome to the forums. Yeah, there are a few people who have lost over 150 pounds on here. I want to lose about 140 to 150 pounds myself - so far I've lost 19 since my surgery 3 weeks ago.

Duct tape (just kidding) lol... The night before I got sleeved I was 314. I was sleeved back late January of this year. Right now, I'm hovering at a steady 97 pound weight loss (so pretty close to 100). I've got about 67-77 more to go. We'll see how I feel I look when I get there. Anyhow, since I'm still losing, I can't speak for maintenance/keeping it off yet. I think saggy skin is just one of the necessary evils of this truthfully. Just yesterday I was noticing the skin on my inner thigh & around my lower stomach was loose enough for my to grab and it feels like bread dough! EWWWIE!! LOL Duct tape doesn't sound like a bad idea but I think I may just end up living in Spanx for awhile. I actually had that thought last night in the shower. That I ought to buy several pair and just live in them for the next several months. Won't be too bad once summer's done. LOL I may need the extra layer considering I've lost so much insulation! SleeveGirl-TX 183 Posted August 2, 2011 There are folks that have lost that much. Hang around and poke around and you'll find them. I am at 6 weeks. I have lost a total of 51 pounds today, so right at 25% of my total 200 I want to lose. 20 of those were with the pre op diet, but the other 30 are all me. That's 5 pounds per week, on average, since surgery. I had a three week stall even. I absolutely 100% believe it can and will work for me. BUT it's not just surgery. YOU have to change too. I'm visiting with a counselor, I'm working out with a trainer twice per week and I have a gym membership now. Crazy! LOL
LilMissDiva Irene 3,282 Posted August 2, 2011 Hi there lml, and welcome to VST I am within pounds of totalling 150 Lbs lost, however I've likely already really surpassed that since I really honestly will never know exactly how much I topped out at. LOL!! When I was Super Obese, you best be darned sure I wasn't EVER weighing myself. Had I been though, I'm sure I wouldn't have gotten as heavy as I did. I got ill with HBP and scared of this decided to diet. I'd lost an entire clothing size before I had courage to weigh myself and it was 318 Lbs. So, I usually tack on an extra 15 Lbs for good measure, but really was probably more than that. I always put my highest weight as 330 Lbs. Today I'm 182 Lbs. As you can see by my profile pics and signature line pics I've lost quite a bit of weight. So, to answer your question... yes, this Sleeve surgery does make it VERY POSSIBLE to reach your goals. I personally have never really had any real set goals. My main goal was just to get healthy and HBP free. My others were just to fit into certain sizes and fitness goals. I have met all of them and surpassed most. Good luck to you, and please feel free to ask as many questions as possible! We are always very open to help out those seeking information. Lila21 36 Posted August 2, 2011 I have lost 93 lbs, and I have about 40 to go. So, yes, I definitely think it's possible. I am in my 7th month, and things are slowing down, but I expect to get to my goal with a little hard work.
Chicadee 10 Posted August 3, 2011 I was hoping to eventually lose 260 lbs. I have lost 80lbs since March, my surgery was in May. Still quite a long way to go but only 11 lbs to my first goal of being under 300.
