I'm feeling really well at this point...No hunger...Not much pain at all...but NO ENERGY!!!! Zip Zilch Zero Energy. My question to you all is should I try a Protein bullet this early in the game. I have class in two days and worried about not being able to finish my class work. reading, paper, quiz and a test all this week. Class isn't until Tuesday. Just wondering if protein bullet would be pushing things I don't want to push. TIA for your input. :)

I have been drinking one bottle of Isopure for 40 grams of protein every day, and I have also been drinking a 25 gram protein shot. I have heard that the Protein Shots are the "wrong" kind of protein but my NUT said they are ok. I also have very little energy. I am ok for the first hour or two after I get up in the morning, but after that I am bushed. I am anxious to hear what the old pros say about this.

Sounds like we are in the same boat.....not getting in enough Water, not enough Protein and I have absolutely NO ENERGY WHATSOEVER!!! I feel horrible, I need some help! I feel like i am constantly drinking but I know I am not getting enough fluids and as for protein, it is the worst! I tried a Protein Powder shake and could only get half down!!! I need some motivation.....

I am in the same boat. It's been a little better the past few days, but I sure hope this is just a normal phase and it goes away soon. I am still on Clear liquids, but I've had to take the Protein powders mixed with Water just to get by my day. Every one says to walk, walk, walk, but how I am I supposed to walk when I have no energy.

I am also taking the Protein Shots since my preop liquid diet, but I can't stand the taste anymore.

I hope someone has some advice for us.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
