Being Critical of My Body

Recommended Posts

When I got sleeved I was heavy. I was wearing a shirt size of 18/20 and for me that was really big. I can just look at my arms as I am losing and see how the skin is looking terrible, and I am only 35 pounds down. I was always self conscience of my body, but I don't want to go through this process and feel bad about the way that I look. I am so tired of it. I know I will get plastic surgery when the time comes, but what do to get me through this process. I saw my arms in the mirror today and the place where the stretch marks resided the most is already look like crop and you can see it looking all saggy. YUCK.

I feel for you! This is a rough time to be adjusting to all this especially since the fashions seem to be tank tops and flimsy little sleeveless shirts! I can't find a good ole button up shirt to save my life! I'm just trying to hang in there and look forward to fall when the styles will once again have sleeves!

I have always had big arms, and now the fat has just melted them down to regular sized... except the skin! I hear ya sister! I wear 3/4 sleeves, and this looks pretty good, I just gave away all my short sleeved shirts, and have my fingers crossed that the skin will at least shrink up a little. Really, I didn't like how my arms looked fat.... and am trying to give myself a break now that they are not fat...just flabby. I keep saying to myself "Your health is much better and thats what counts". I am also getting TONS of wrinkles on my face AND arms.... OMG. From far away I look younger, from close up I look much older. Oh well! So goes life!

I too have issues when not clothed  As far as the arms go,, I started working them out like crazy with push ups, hand weights and yoga. No they are not perfect but then look a damn sight better than they did! They look fine when down and I figure how often do I lift them? At the beginning of summer I kept looking at clothes and thinking I cant wear that, I can't wear that, I can't wear that. The one day I said SCREW it! I did not go through this process to continue to be ashamed of me! Now I wear sleeveless shirts all the time!

My arms have always been big and now I have BIG bat wings of loose wrinkley skin. I have found three sources of nice button down blouses (long sleeved or 3 quarter). Talbots, Eddie Bauer and Lands End. Each of the stores has a great online site. All of the shirts are well made. I wouldn't call any of them inexpensive when full price- but look for sales and clearance. I wore a really pretty blue one yesterday I got on the Eddie Bauer clearance section of their web site.

I go sleeveless when I am home - but that isn't appropriate for my office environment. I really need to start doing the arm exercises to see how much improvement I can get.

My arms were hideous... But, I started swimming about 2 months ago and they are starting to take shape. I wholeheartedly recommend swimming to combat the flabby flab on the arms!
