vericks 1 Posted July 11, 2006 Okay, I'm going for my first fill tomorrow and need to know what I should be expecting. I have been back to fairly normal eating after the surgery, it's been almost 2 months now since then. What should I do before I go to the doctors tomorrow and what should I do afterwards? Just got back from vacation afraid to look at the scales! Thanks Ya'll Vickie:confused:
K@t 38 Posted July 11, 2006 Hello Vicki, I am also getting my first fill tomorrow, and I was banded at the end of april. I have also been eating pretty normal up until now. I think its safe to assume that we should go on liquids for a day or 2 after the fill (soups yogurts, etc) and then take it very slow to see what we can handle after that. At least thats my plan. coyotegirl 3 Posted July 11, 2006 Hi vericks, My Doc usually doesn't require anything before my fills but he says to go on liquids for 24 hrs after then take it slow to see how it goes. Good Luck!!
Elisabethsew 50 Posted July 11, 2006 Hi Ladies, Fills are NOT painful and you don't have any pre-fill prep. After the fill, you'll likely be given a piece of paper that instructs you on what to eat post-fill. For me it was full fluids for 24 hours, a soft diet the next 24 hours and then normal foods. You'll be asked to drink some Water after the fill which takes about 10 minutes. Afterwards, you might have a small bruise at the port site from the needle stick.
