SIZE 34 BOUGIE

My surgeon uses a 34. He said that it is a good size that gives good results without creating problems.

Mine used a 40. I'm 4 weeks out and can barely eat 2 oz. of dense Protein. I did get reflux though so I'm taking a PPI and that has helped a lot.

Newbie here. Are bougies like needle sizes? The larger the number the "smaller" the pouch? So 40 is smaller than a 32?

NO, it's the opposite. The larger the number, the larger the pouch, but it's by milimeters and not much different between sizes.
