My Plastics Journey - My first one (of several)

Wow I'm so sorry to hear that! :( If you don't mind, what were the symptoms... just so I would, or anyone reading this would know what to look out for?

I don't think it's that common to have a reaction, my mom has an autoimmune disease so I think it was a genetic thing that I reacted to them. With me, it started with a rash on my left hand that eventually spread all the way up my arm and got really nasty. It took a lot of googling to figure out what was causing it. Once I had them removed the rash went away completely. Autoimmune reactions can vary though, depending on the person.

I can hardly wait!!! I'm getting work done for aesthetic enhancement, after I get sleeved to preserve my life.. Heck, may as well look good!!! Forget people who don't agree... Misery loves company and people who criticize others often have problems w/ themselves!!!

My BFF is tickled that I'm finally get WLS.... She says "You're a diva and something else now... oh Lord, when you drop 100lbs, I'm going to have to put you under 24 hour surveillance!!!".... HEHEHEHE.. she's probably right...

Take care of yourself!!

I know that's right!! To heck with all the negative Nellies. If they only knew what I've been through in my life, they'd never do it. Anyway, yes, you're going to love your sleeve and everything else that goes along with it. I know I do!!! TGoodness for surgeries, of all types. Heehee  Keep me updated on your progress!!

That's good information to be aware of. Thank you!

Thanks favoredone! I can't say enough how happy I am that I did this! You would be too, if that is what you choose to do. Nothing at all wrong with wanting too look great. Sure, that did have some things to do with why I had this surgery, though I always say my health was the number one reason, and it really was... but again, I do care how I look!!!

So today is 2 weeks post op. I'm still feeling some soreness, especially in the nipple area. Also the skin around the breast feels kinda prickly, but better than the numbness I suppose I felt for the first week post op. According to the gal who helped remove my stitches last week she said it can take an entire 4 months before I get fully healed and to know how my breasts will end up looking. Great thing though is my swelling is FINALLY starting to subside some and the boobs are starting to feel more bouncy and look more real. It's kinda weird though because when I'm walking I can feel them bouncing around and I'm so NOT USED TO THAT!! LOL!! Not even when my breasts were larger and real. I would harness them really good though, and the Dr.s bra is somewhat "freedom" giving... if that makes any sense at all. Hahaaa!!! I can tell you this, once that 6 weeks is up and I can start wearing any bra I want, I will be harnessing these girls once again. They are very flamboyant... heehee!!

Here's some photos I just took right now. As you can see, the swelling toward the top of the breast has gone down a lot, and they look to be dropping some. Full dropping & fluffing (D&F according to the BA world) takes the whole 3-4 months. Good luck to any ladies planning to do this!! Again... don't regret a darned thing. ;)

You look beautiful girlie :) your confidence is glowing :)

Whooopsss!!! I forgot to mention that I have completely changed my liposuction Appts. They are now going to be performed in November. It's a really good thing I did some finding out that they had me scheduled with 2 different surgeons... which was a mistake. They don't like to do that, so it's all re-situated and I've already gotten the time off from work. I think I'm only going to work 15 days in the entire month of November, with 2 Holidays and 2 RDO's squeezed in there, plus the 5 days off for recovery time. Yeahh!! I can deal with that!!

My first Liposuction Appt will be on Wednesday November 2nd. They will remove fat from my inner thighs and around my knees.

My second Liposuction Appt will be on Friday November 18th. They will remove fat from my outter thigh (saddle bags) and around my waist.

I can't wait!! I am glad though that it was postponed. I like the idea of healing from the BA first. :)

He he he you are going to look like a human Barbie doll. LOL Y0u will look fantastic!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
