CCinINdiana 9 Posted July 27, 2011 Am I home free? I had a tiny little bit in my left shoulder, and 3, yes 3 actual outward expressions of gas lol, if you know what I mean. I keep waiting for it to hit me. I will be two weeks out tomorrow, so am I in the safe zone? I will say from reading these boards the mantra sip sip sip, walk walk kept going through my head. I was up and down the hall 2 hours out of recovery. I am hoping that helped. Cathi
Foxbins 625 Posted July 27, 2011 I'd say you're done. I had gas distension in my abdomen (I looked pregnant) for about 2 weeks after surgery and an achey neck and shoulder for about the same time. Thankfully, I never had any intestinal issues.
La Dolce Vita 1 Posted July 27, 2011 I had shoulder pain and a few burps and I also tooted a lot but it never was once painful. I kept waiting for painful gas as well but nothing painful so far. I am 5 days post op
Chicadee 10 Posted July 27, 2011 I never had the gas pain that a lot of people talk about. I was fully expecting it, then nothing happened. You should be good at this point.
Nancy Rivers 24 Posted July 27, 2011 You're probably out of the woods. I never had gas "pain". I did have a pressure from gas - but nothing I considered painful.
Marie from Michigan 11 Posted July 27, 2011 I think you avoided the worst of the gas pain! The pain in my left shoulder was the first thing I remember waking up from surgery. It was intense for about 3 days and lingered for about a week. I had some of the "other" gas as well about day 5 or so. I also had lots of gassy noises coming from my stomach. Still do, actually!
