Hey gang,

Our time is drawing nigh!!! After months of stalking this forum, buying Protein powders of every kind, stocking up on Vitamins, Biotin ect. now it is finally showtime.

We have been encouraging each other, preparing mentally for this battle of the mind.... to win and take control of our lives.

We have to put away the devil of doubt and know this is a time of renewal and transformation, that we have been waiting on..... perhaps for years. This is our long awaited miracle.

I am not nervous, I am at complete peace and just so very thankful for this opportunity. You are all in my prayers and thoughts. I hope you are all as excited as I am.

I'm ready but still nervous for tomorrow. I drank my magnesium citrate about 2 hours ago and O.M.G. I think I'm dying.

I started my 2 day liquid diet yesterday and was shocked to get on the scale this morning and weigh 3 1/2 lbs less than I did yesterday morning. I'm starving though... hoping this feeling goes away after surgery. I'm starving, yet I feel pukey from that nasty drink I had to drink. Looking forward to the rest of my life, though. :)

and meee! I have surgery tomorrow too! I was on the master list for the 25th, but they changed my date :( but o well I get to share my surgery date with you great people!! So good luck to everyone tomorrow and I wish you all a speedy and painfree recovery! BTW, the magnesium citrate was HORRIBLE!! I felt wretched and thought I was going to throw it all up! Feeling better, just a little hungry since I haven't had anything real to eat since noonish on Sunday. Just keeping my eye on the prize!

Good luck sleevers!!

Yay, we are all finally here!!! I feel very much the same as Boots, I am not nervous but at peace. I know the decision made is the right one for me. I have been preparing for this day for 4+ years, so I thank God for giving me this opportunity to take charge of my life, my health, and give me back the control I lost to food.

Good luck everyone! I will praying for us all to have a smooth and painless recovery.

Sheila

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
