cdavis 2 Posted July 26, 2011 In December I had a total Hysterectomy, I'm now waiting for my surgeon to schedule my sleeve. The question I have is, "Will I lose weight fast or slower than someone who's not going through menopause?" Will the sleeve work for me? Is anyone out there going through menopause finding iit easy to lose weight or hard with the sleeve?
PdxMan 4,292 Posted July 26, 2011 Oye, probably not going to get too many responses in The Man Room, but I'm sure you can search the other rooms. 1 Abird123 reacted to this

lsereno 2,525 Posted July 27, 2011 Hi, I'm post-menopausal and somewhat of a lightweight too. My surgery date BMI was 35.8. I have lost 10% of my body weight in the first month followiing surgery and I am on track to lose another 10% by the end of month 3. I'm happy with my weight loss. I have seen others losing a lot more, but I'm not sure of their BMI. And I've seen some people losing less. For me the surgery is a huge success. I already feel so much better and I'm thrilled to be in regular sizes and shrinking at a pretty good clip. Lynda
TexasT 99 Posted July 29, 2011 I had a full hysterectomy at the age of 41, I'm 50 now, and I had no problems losing all my weight.
KKoman 0 Posted August 4, 2011 I am post menopausal (age 49). I think I am perfectly average in my weight loss - 35 pounds in 7.5 weeks, On the one hand, I am not anxious about how much I lose, or don't lose. ANYTHING is better than nothing - and it is definitely better than continuing to gain weight! But, on the other hand, I will be disappointed if I do not lose close to 100 pounds in a year.
