I work from 8 am to 7 pm Monday thru Thursday. I take an hour lunch and I walk 1-mile. After I get off from work, I then go from anywhere from 2-3.5 mile walk. On the weekends we go to the thrift stores to look for clothes to fit our new bodies. Once the weather cools down, my husband and I will start hiking again. My time eating hasnt change much, just the volumes, I do walk more then I did before.

I agree with the above poster, I still eat just the volume of food is different. I never sat around and ate all day before! I just ate the wrong food and a little too much when I did eat.

I work 7:30-4:00 m-f and when I get off, i come home, make dinner, walk the dog then exercise. That pretty much fills up my days. On the weekend, i shop, do laundry, clean and exercise. I also watch movies and hang with friends.

I was an evening smacker while I watched TV. Since I no longer snack (3 meals and one Protein shake per day), I spend less time watching TV in the evening. I tend to play on my computer more and read. During the day I actually spend more time eating. Before retraining, I was a fast eater, often gulping down Breakfast and lunch in 5 minutes or so and finishing dinner in about 10. Now I spend 30 minutes on lunch and dinner and about 15 on Breakfast.< /p>

I used to have many regularly scheduled snack times...and I substituted Water for food at those times. My house has never been cleaner, I have spent days cleaning out my closet of old, huge clothes. And now my garden has twice as many flowers as before, I've found that gardening is a great "passive" exercise.

I spend a lot of time thinking about food. It's killing me. :(

I am actually with the poster who said she tries to spend more time eating during the day. I used to wolf down volumes of food, and now I am finding that if I eat too fast, I feel really bad, so I have to eat slowly and listen to my body more carefully. But, in terms of activities, I still go out to eat (I just have leftovers!), and I am working out a lot more!

Actually I spend WAY more time eating and drinking now. Before I could just shove down a meal and drink and then be done with my day. Now I have to CONSTANTLY think about eating or drinking something. IT SUCKS MAJOR LOLLIPOPS, but I know eventually things will get better.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
