I also love Linda's blog because she has really yummy recipes that are carb friendly. Also, in her links on the right side of the page there are links to more blogs with recipes.< /p>

Also, Big Daddy's blog is fabulous if you are low carbing it. I love his recipes and breaks down the carbs for everything.

This isn't a blog but I got so tired of trying to plan menus. I found this website for $15 for 3 months, once a week they will send you 5 recipes including grocery list. They have many options but I use the low carb for 2 people. This is more for those that are on real foods and/or closer to goal. I can usually get 2 or more meals from one recipe. So far we (my husband is also a sleever) have liked everything and we are trying things we normally wouldn't have ate prior to surgery. I don't fix all the sides they are suggesting but this is helping to get veggies and fruits in my diet as I had focused too much on just Protein and not eating enough vegetables or fruit to balance.

Thanks klus - I'm still on purees, but I did sign up to get the recipes for when I do get to eat real food again. I have always found it hard to cook for just myself as most recipes are for 4+ people. That's part of the reason why I got to be so overweight - it was just easier for me to hit fast food than try to figure out how to cook for just me. This way, at least I'll have some ideas so that I can start cooking for myself and not fall back into my bad habits.

I'm the oddball of the group as I never looked at those websites that much. I skimmed them, but I was cooking for myself and my family so I had to tweak regular recipes to make them more sleeve friendly.

www.allrecipes.com is my favorite website. They have an entire low carb section, and I have saved over 400 recipes in my recipe box on there. We've tried most of them as well so I found that website extremely useful.

My main substitutes were greek yogurt for sour cream, and to use Pork rinds for bread crumbs as the binder in any recipes.

Of course, there are other substitution, but I found a lot of the bariatric recipes pretty blah. When my tastebuds decided to go on vacation, and my appetite left along with hunger, I had to do something to get creative and make food taste better.

When I was on Weight Watchers Gina's blog was my lifesaver (skinnytaste.com). I haven't reviewed a lot of her recipes to see if they are low-carb and will be sleeve-friendly (eventually), but I'm sure I'll be able to still make some of hers because my whole family loves them.

I've spent some time on Eggface's blog and wish that she had just a full recipe listing, it seems like it might be kinda hard to get through all her diff recipes.< /p>

I love a meatball recipe I found and adapted after surgery. Kittnecals italian melt in your mouth meatballs. You can find it at food.com but I changed the breadcrumbs to porkrines and just crushed them like you would bread and used the same amount. I also found a spaghetti sauce that was all natural and no sugar at HEB Grocery store that was awesome!!! The meatballs are awesome with or without a sauce. I tried them baked and in sauce.

I love skinnytast.com also. So many good recipes. And I agree about eggfaces site. I wish her recipes were set up like Gina's, so it would be easier to find them. But still love her site. Lots of good ideas.

Thanks everyone. Alot of great sites out there I didn't know about.

Linda Sue! -- http://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/

She gives all the nutritional information. She rates the recipes and adds "tweaks". 99% of the items are common items you can buy anywhere. It is "real" food and all low carb.

One of my favorites of hers - spanish rice (mock:

Enjoy!

Wow, thanks for sharing, she has some great recipes. I can't wait to start trying them.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
