Best and worst reactions to telling people you were banded?

Which had a psychic on there named sylvia brown and listening to her got me thinking and I wanted to tell you that maybe your consult being moved back a week and then your surgery date being moved back a week too is your mother doing it to show you that she doesn't want you to have this done"

I am a fan of Sylvia Brownes-have heard her speak in person and see her on the Montel show and read all her books. I can't imagine how anything she said could have been interpeted to mean your mother didn't approve and thats' why your dates were moved. Sylvia is very health concious and certainly wouldn't have come up with that story - think somebody is very confused:rolleyes: - just do what you know is best for you.

I have told very few people. My DH, parents, brother, a select few friends, and just recently my mother in law. Nobody else from my family or my husbands family knows. I just had it done last week and will see if I change my mind as I start to lose weight. I will probably go with the seeing a nutritionist, eating right, excersice thing. i dont think I would lie to someone if directly asked if I had surgery.

I was very lucky that my family was very supportive of the LAP band. It would not have been such an easy thing if I told them I wantd RNY. They would not have supported me on that.
