Magic bullet

Recommended Posts

I have been considering it too and just can't do it for the price. I would love having the ease of just cleaning the the blade and then being able to use it again but it seems like the price just isn't worth it. I have seen then little Hamilton Beach mentioned above at our Walmart for $12 - it is tiny and would work great because our counter is so small but the blade is in the glass like a normal blender so you would still need to wash it each time you used it. I'm still undecided.

I have a bullet that I have used three or four times. I really just prefer my blender. If you would like to have this bullet it's yours for the cost of shipping. Email me privately if you are interested.

I got one for Christmas, so that's the only reason I have it. I do think they are a bit pricey. It works pretty well though. I like that is sits on the counter and doesn't take up much space. It is super easy to clean and I make smoothies for Breakfast in it. I am pretty much out of the Protein Shake phase. I did use it for that and it worked fine.

I love my MB! I have the small HB as well and rarely use it. The MB works for me - I let my Protein shakes sit for 5 mins or so in the fridge to let some of the foam go away. Even my shakers make the foam so it is not just the MB. I used my MB to chop onions and meat the other day - worked great. I have never had any leaking into the base as someone mentioned.

The only con I has is that I have to shake it a bit to get the big chunks of food to the bottom so that it chops evenly.

I <3 my MB

I love and use my magic bullet all the time. chicken salad--if you're just chopping the chicken, yes, it is a pain to stir and get it all chopped. Just add your mayo or Greek yogurt or whatever in the bottom, then put your chicken and green onion, and it turns into a paste really easily. I use it for Protein Shakes, too, but I don't over-process--I like mine with ice to make them like a milkshake, so maybe that's why I don't get a lot of foaming. Again, milk first, then Protein Powder, then whatever flavorings, then ice. I found that order of ingredients does make a difference in the processing efficiency. I do love that I just toss the cups in the dishwasher and still have others ready to use.

I have read where several of you have and use the magic bullet for making Protein shakes, omlettes and etc. I was reading the reviews of this thing to try to decide if I needed one. For those of you who own one, what has been your experience? Good points? Bad points?

Khy

I had had one for 2 years. It sits under my counter. I wasn't really impressed with it then, but I plan to drag it back out now that I have been approved for surgery. I am very interested in what other people have used it for.

I use my MB for my morning Protein shakes - don't have any problem with it or the shakes at all. I use it for a few other things, too. Didn't pay the full price - found mine somewhere discounted (Garden Ridge, maybe). Have other blender and food processor - but this is the one I reach for.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
