Lbt Chat Room

Recommended Posts

I just wanted to mention the chat room. I don't know how but i managed to miss it till now.

It would be cool if we start using it. I'm sure alot of us would like to just talk.

Just a suggestion.

I thought it would be a great idea.

Using this chat room would be GREAT, but if if doesn't work out, there are almost always people chatting at this address at or about 9-9:30 p.m. (EST), every day. Some days there are more people there than others, but there is almost always someone there. FYI, you don't have to register to join a chat -- it just saves you from having to enter your preferred UserID every time if you do register.

Chatting is a such a great form of support for me. I hope you can all find a way to chat too, whether here or elsewhere.

anyone trying to get into the chat room tonight... log out at the top right... then don't log back on there.... click on chat... then it will ask you to log on there.... do that --- it takes a few mins but you can get in....

Don't know why we have to do it this way but it works... hope to see you guys in there....

BTW Julie- I tried your website for chat and it said it was a broken link??

My name is Michelle and I was banded in November 2007. I started out at 260 and I am down to 228. I use to drink lots of soda and me and the family loves to eat out . I don't workout like I should when I do workout I say why did I ever stop. my family is a picky eater and some times I make the wrong choices and I use to drink while I eat "yeah I know that is a big no no" I have stop doing that. now all I eat is fruit, meat veggies. I drink tea with splenda in stead of soda. if anyone has any ideas let me know I am up for ideas that is the reason why i am on here and plus I dont have time to go to support meeting...

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
