Okay, this is depressing - I already eat/live this way and barely lose if I lose at all! I do not eat rice, potatoes of any kind, grains, bread, jam/jelly, Syrup, white sugar. I cardio exercise 5x a week and I'm barely losing a pound a week, and that's not every week!

So, I've been auditing my intake over the last couple of days to see what I need to tweak for the challenge. I am going to have to cut out my daily oatmeal and I bought some refried Beans to replace it. I need the Fiber :-) I also need to cut out my occasional granola bar - I won't be buying another box of those. I threw out the tortilla chips that were tempting me. I bought some beef Jerky as a snack. The most amazing thing?: I actually tried another Isopure this week. You see, I have never been good with the Protein / Fluid intake. I still have a bunch of those in the mini fridge. I didn't love it, but I drank about a third. It did fill me up and pump up my Protein.< /p>

Good news: at the end of the day, I am eating just under 1000 calories.

So, tomorrow is another day to prepare and then I am going to put my best effort into the challenge.

Globetrotter: you are still doing great!! By all accounts, these last pounds are the hardest. I am losing a pound every 2 weeks right now - and its ok! I feel like I am happy as long as I am not gaining :-) We can get through this together!!!!

Checking in for my challenge!! Day 1 - Off to a good start this morning - scrambled egg and a sprinkle of mozzarella cheese. As usual, pure Protein makes me eat a lot less :-) I am going to try and post the challenge list with check marks / status on each items at the end of the day. I might have to have the challenge criteria tattooed on my arm because I keep forgetting the details :-)

Day 1 for me today:

I have drank half of a Protein Shake (made with unsweeten almond milk). I have my ham and cheese roll waiting to be eaten...chicken for lunch, cottage cheese and 1 oz of pepper jack cheese and IDK for supper yet. Exercise is going to be walking/jogging 3 miles. The only thing that I am going to have a bit of trouble with is the fruits.....veggies are going to be okay....What is everyone doing for their exercise today?

Fruits are not mandatory, they are suggestive only. I do need some carbs as my workouts are hours worth and there's no way I could maintain them on 30g of carbs or less.

I put a cap of 5 serving per day (which I still don't even eat that much) on it, but did not put a minimum. HTH

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
